ENDURANCE RUNNING

Endurance Running with Ultra Runner Carla Molinaro

With our Wellness After 40 Talks we are about sharing the insights, strategies and advice to help you optimize your health, wellness and fitness after 40.

So today I have the pleasure of speaking to Carla Molinaro, from London in the United Kingdom, a record breaking ultra runner, adventurer and qualified running coach who seeks out events that are slightly harder than the average. Carla is a former triathlete who has competed in three World Championships and has over 20 years running experience and loves pushing her body to the limits by running long distances up mountains, around islands.

She has won a Gold Medal at Comrades (the oldest and largest ultra marathon in the world) represented Great Britain at the 100km World Championships and is the fastest female to run the length of Britain, completing the 874-mile distance in 12 days, 30 minutes and 14 seconds. This was some 10 hours quicker than the previous record and secured for her a Guinness World Record for LEJOG (Land’s End to John O’Groats).

Carla says she loves seeing what her body and mind are capable of by racing hard and going on epic adventures!

In our talk Carla shares about her background in ultra running, her training, acheivements and what she has planned for the future. She also gives us an overview of her philosophy as a running coach for endurance events and about her new running program Strength, Conditioning and Yoga for runners.
