Ian Morgan, Ultra Runner After 40

In today’s LEGEND LIFE STORY interview I will be speaking to ultra runner Ian Morgan who is originally from New Zealand but is now living in Spain.

In our talk Ian shares how he went from overweight couch potato in his 40’s to an international ultra runner. Ian Morgan led a conventional life in New Zealand before a number of significant life events, including a heart attack and an earthquake, made him take stock and change direction to the life he leads today.

His journey literally started when one day sitting on his couch reflecting on when he felt most happiest as a kid, which was running in the hills around Christchurch in New Zealand, he decided to get up and go for a run around the block in his jeans. It is this that started a journey which saw him him not only tranform his body, going from over 107kg to 75 kg, but saw him transform his life. Going from he says just making money to making a life. A journey which has seen him travelling the world running endurance races as a fully sponsored athlete to finding the love of his life, fellow ultra runner, Chilean, Fran Gonzalez.

In our talk we talk about the need to have goals, to find your purpose or passion and to actively pursue it to reach your potential. He speaks about why you need to consistently take yourself out of your comfort zone and the need to overcome the limiting beliefs that are holding you back from living the life you envisage for yourself. He also shares is definition of living a legendary life and three life lessons he has learned in life that he believes will help others on their own personal journey to creating their best life.
