SUP Lass, Caroline Dawson Shares How to Get Started with SUP

For today’s Experience Life Talk I will be speaking to Caroline Dawson (Caz), who is a stand up paddle board enthusiasts and the founder of SUP Lass Paddle Adventures which offers SUP coaching and instruction and SUP experiences based in North East Wales. Caroline, will be sharing her tips, advice and inspiration to help you get started with stand-up paddling.

What is Stand-up Paddle Board (SUP)?

Stand-up paddle boarding is an outdoor water sports activity where a rider stands up on a large board and uses a paddle to move through the water. It is also known as SUP, and is one of the fastest-growing board sports in the world.

SUP initially emerged as an accessible alternative to surfing but now is a sport that has a broad base amongst those looking for an active water-based recreational activity. SUP can be enjoyed in flat oceans, surf zones, lakes, rivers, canals, inland waterways and any other body of water. Inflatable stand-up paddleboards have made the sport even more accessible and popular.

“With my previous business I gained the nickname ‘Fodder Lass’, so to keep the tradition alive it was only natural to adopt the name ‘SUP Lass’..” @suplass - Caroline Dawson
