Today I have the pleasure of speaking to Jarrod Gunn McQuillan who is founder of Cloud 9 Adventures which offers high quality sea kayak coaching and instruction to all levels and abilities. Cloud 9 Adventures and is based in St Peters Harbor, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Jarrod has been paddling since 1998 and has spent much time exploring the lakes and rivers of Ontario and the coast of BC besides numerous overseas sea kayaking expeditions to locations such as Hawaii, Bahamas and Belize.

Jarrod loves being on the water and having the opportunity to share his passion for sea kayaking. He is certified as a Paddle Canada Level 3 Sea Kayak Instructor and holds his Paddle Canada Level 4 Sea Kayak Skills and BCU 4 Star leader awards.

Sea kayaking is popular around the world anywhere there are large bodies of water to be explored such as lakes, bays, calm rivers, estuaries or the ocean. Sea kayaks are designed for higher cruising speed, cargo capacity, ease of straight-line paddling and comfort for long journeys. It is as sport open to people of all skill levels and reasonably easy to learn.

In our interview Jarrod gives us the complete low down about getting started with Sea Kayaking.
